Tastea Raises Over $6,000 for Best Friends Animal Society with the Help of Popeye and Chewie

Tastea had a howlin’ good year! From the release of our exclusive new merch line to the opening of 7 new store locations, Tastea has steadily climbed its way to becoming a household name in the boba community. However, one thing that certainly stands is that no matter where we go, our guiding principles have always reminded us of our mission and what is truly important to us.

One guiding principle we continuously strive to uphold is to support our communities. In the past, we have held fundraisers for local schools and programs. However, this year we tried something completely new. This year marked a monumental move because we hosted our first ever charity event.

Animal rights activism is something we have always felt strongly about. Being dog-lovers ourselves, we thought what better way to give back than to share our love to the furry friends who show their love unconditionally (and with a lot of kisses)?

In collaboration with two of Instagram’s most popular dog bloggers, Popeye and Chewie, we created special custom pins made for Tastea fans and dog-lovers alike.

Centered around the Halloween season, we created a Tastea-themed pumpkin patch at our Long Beach location. We invited all our furry friends across Southern California to join us while we sold pins and puppuccinos. Guests also had the chance to meet Popeye and Chewie at the event.

All proceeds from the event would be donated to our friends at Best Friends Animal Society of Los Angeles, an organization spearheading the movement to make all shelters in Los Angeles a no-kill establishment.

This past weekend, some members of the Tastea team had the opportunity to spend time at the Best Friends Animal Society’s Adoption Center.

We met with their amazing staff, toured the facilities, and learned more about BFLA’s mission.

We also got the chance to meet Lola, one of many dogs available for adoption.

We presented a check to this fantastic organization with all the money we raised. Through the help of Popeye & Chewie and all our amazing fans, we were able to raise over $6,000 for Best Friends LA!
